09/01/11 : Jennifer E. Fleming has joined the firm as an Associate in the Richmond, Virginia office of Midkiff, Muncie & Ross, P.C. Ms. Fleming received her bachelor's degree (magna cum laude), and her master's degree (summa cum laude) from Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, where she was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. Ms. Fleming then attended William & Mary Law School, where she served as Editor-in-Chief of the Bill of Rights Journal. Last year, Ms. Fleming served as law clerk to the Honorable Tommy E. Miller, United States Magistrate Judge in the Norfolk and Newport News Divisions of the Eastern District of Virginia. Ms. Fleming concentrates her practice in property insurance, construction, subrogation, and professional malpractice defense.
08/01/11 : Emily S. Kirkpatrick has joined Midkiff, Muncie & Ross, P.C. as a new Associate in the Richmond office. Emily is a 2011 graduate of William & Mary Law School, where she served as Executive Editor of the William & Mary Journal of Women and the Law. She received her bachelor’s degree in 2004 from Elon University, and worked for several years in the public relations field before entering law school. Emily spent her final semester of law school as an intern at the Richmond office, learning the ropes before joining as a full-time associate in August. With Midkiff, Muncie & Ross, P.C., Emily will concentrate her practice in workers’ compensation defense and cost containment.

Brian earned his baccalaureate degree at the University of Virginia and his Juris Doctor from the University of Alabama. He is admitted to practice law before all Virginia and Tennessee state courts as well as the United States District Court for the Western District of Virginia. Brian comes to us with 7 years of prior civil litigation experience with the primary concentration of his practice being in the areas of workers’ compensation defense, subrogation and insurance defense.

09/08/09 : We are pleased to announce that J.R. Pruden has joined Midkiff, Muncie & Ross as an Associate in our Richmond, Virginia office. J.R. received his B.S. at the University of Richmond, Robins School of Business in 2000. He then attended Widener University School of Law in Chester, Pennsylvania, where he received his J.D. in 2008, on the Dean's Honor List. J.R. will provide representation to the insurance community in the defense of workers' compensation claims, medical cost containment and other insurance defense matters.

Ms. Plunkett brings with her experience and high quality service to clients in the insurance industry. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin and her law degree from New England School of Law in Boston, Massachusetts. While in law school, Ms. Plunkett interned for a workers' compensation administrative law judge. She has been a member of the Virginia Bar since 1998 and a member of the DC Bar since 2006. In addition to her state court practice, Ms. Plunkett is admitted to practice in the United State District Courts for the for the Eastern and Western Districts of Virginia and the District of Columbia, where she has successfully obtained summary judgment. She has experience in the areas of workers' compensation, general liability, insurance defense, ERISA, medical and dental malpractice, and products liability. A successful litigator, she has also resolved numerous matters through mediation and other methods of alternative dispute resolution. We are pleased to have her aboard.
